Giorgos Psychakis
Kochylou, Andros
«I come here to pass the day, until the next one comes.»
It all started with a trip to Andros, in April.
Dimitris and Alex ended up on the island almost by chance. At some point someone told us about a village, Kochylou, and we decided to go and see it. We got there and there wasn’t a soul around. Until we stumbled on kyr Giorgis’s café.
He poured us some ouzo and, somehow, started telling us stories. About his life, his place, the old days. And we sat and listened, travelling to a time that now feels very far away.
On the way out we thought of something simple: how many stories like these are out there, and how many will be lost if nobody ever listens?
That’s how Anthropon Istories (“people’s stories”) began: a video series where we meet people, hear their personal stories and discover places through their eyes. From older people who remember what life used to be like, to the people who keep a place’s traditions and everyday life going.
Because every person carries a whole era. And we want to hear it.

A grandfather, a grandmother, a relative or someone from your place with stories to share? If they’d like to tell them, we’d love to meet them.
Send us a message on Instagram and tell us their story. Maybe the next story starts with you.
